Sinecod Forte: Treatment for Coughs of Various Origins

Table of Contents

Sinecod Forte is an over-the-counter cough syrup and tablet that contains the active ingredient butamirate citrate. It is used to treat coughs of various origins, including dry coughs, allergic coughs, and coughs caused by colds and the flu.

Butamirate citrate is a central antitussive, which means that it works by suppressing the cough reflex in the brain. This is different from expectorants, which work by loosening mucus in the airways.
